Back in Black: Clute and Edwards Collaborate on New Noir Initiative (June-July 2015)

Clute and Edwards are proud to announce Into the Darkness: Investigating Film Noir, a free multimedia online course open to learners worldwide and sure to satisfy fans of the noircast.net podcasts. Enrollment is open until July 19, 2015. Join now at the link above. While it has been three years since the last episode of Out of the Past: Investigating Film Noir, Clute and Edwards continue to work on innovative noir projects. Their latest efforts have resulted in a collaboration between Turner Classic Movies (TCM), where Clute now serves as head of Marketing and Editorial, and Ball State University, where Edwards is Executive Director of iLearn Research. In conjunction with “Summer of Darkness,” a two-month programming initiative featuring 24 hours of film noir every Friday in June and July, 2015, TCM will not only market Into the Darkness: Investigating Film Noir, but will also involve its world-class fans and social engagers in course participation and special content creation. Ball State University will produce best-in-class materials for the course, including lecture videos rich in film clips, as well as innovative short form social content, special video annotation tools and more. Edwards is featured in the course videos and serves as course instructor, and the experience culminates with a live video conference featuring Edwards and the TCM on-air host of “Summer of Darkness” Eddie Muller, known to noir fans as the Founder and President of the Film Noir Foundation and author of such iconic books as Dark City: The Lost World of Film Noir.
